It’s been said several million times that children love their parents unconditionally.<\/p>\n

When my daughter is upset by something, and crying, she often wants me to pick her up and hold her for a while. This is true even when *I’m the one who pissed her off.*<\/p>\n

If I force her to get dressed before going to the park (instead of going naked, which is her preference), she might scream bloody murder and cry breathlessly. But she doesn’t tell me to go to hell. She still wants me to calm her just as I would if she’d fallen down and skinned her knee.<\/p>\n
