Seed Magazine points to a round-up of discussion of studies showing that intelligent people have less sex than their average-brained buddies.
As if we didn’t already know that.
I like looking at all the possibilities behind a finding and the article does a good job at stating them, so I won’t bother here. But there’s a pretty funny realization that comes when they look at whether the more intelligent people are not having sex because they’re more religious.
“…this is, of course, not true. Religiousness correlates with lower IQ, and…intelligent people were also more likely to say that premarital sex was not immoral. (Leaving those who did think it was immoral to participate in the bulk of it!)”
I think that parenthetical is hilarious.
By the way, in case I haven’t said it for a while, I love Seed. And not just because they printed my letter to the editor.
