I remember reading a while back that maybe Astronaut Armstrong really said:
“A small step for a man…”
instead of what it sounded like:
“A small step for man….” (link)
Obviously, that would make a little more sense, and the idea was that maybe the “a” got lost somewhere in the miles between the moon and the earth.
Now, after what seems like way way way too much research and effort, they’ve decided that he definitely didn’t say the “a” and until they prove that he did, this is proof that he didn’t.
And they say that bloggers have too much time on their hands.
Since the whole thing was faked in a Hollywood backlot, it doesn’t really matter if he flubbed his line.
That was his tenth take and they just gave up. You should see the blooper reel for that thing.
